I am a fitness enthusiast and expanding into the modeling world. I have found a passion for fitness and modeling in my life. My competition in life is with myself and no one else. I am always striving to be a better me and push myself beyond my own limits”.
Describe who Kimber Kiefer is and her ambition in modeling?
I am a model, fitness guru, and bikini competitor. I was born in Michigan, but I have lived in Texas most of my life. I consider myself 100% Texan and proud of it. I love being a southern girl where most of the year is warm bikini and beach weather. My family is a high priority in my life and I love traveling, scuba diving and challenging myself daily.
Modeling keeps me focused and gives me a goal to stay fit and healthy. I love the camera, fitness, fashion, meeting new people and building new relationships. Modeling combines all of these and gives me the opportunity to express myself. It builds my self-esteem and confidence and makes me a better person. I am a girl making her dreams a reality. I have found a passion for modeling in my life. I want to inspire and motivate others while doing what I love. I am thankful for the support from my friends and family. It is a must to surround yourself with people that are positive and encourage you to chase your dreams. Don’t be afraid of stepping out of your comfort zone, it is where the magic happens.
What are your hopes & aspirations for the future?
I want to continue building my portfolio and continue to challenge myself. I would love to pursue fitness and modeling as a career. It is a passion of mine. It makes me happy
What is the story behind Kimber? How did the dream start out and turn into a reality? How were you discovered? Or did you seek out a modeling agency?
It all started over a year ago, I had the honor of doing my first photo shoot with an amazing photographer, Wendi Satio. It was a goal/dream of mine to shoot with her. I decided to make my dreams my reality and make it happen. I am so glad I did. It was such a positive lifetime experience and I learned so much about myself. It was a confidence booster and made me realize anything was possible if you want it bad enough. Modeling is a good way to keep myself motivated in my healthy fit lifestyle. I always want to look and feel my best. Especially when showing up for a photo shoot. It is all about being confident and comfortable in your own skin. I am building my portfolio, networking and building new relationships. It starts with shooting with great photographers in the industry and building an awesome portfolio and building relationships and networking.
What makes you comfortable on set? What challenges you when the lights are on?
Getting to know the photographer prior to the shoot and building a relationship. It helps when you have the trust factor and they make you feel comfortable and at ease immediately. I love having music and a fun relaxed environment. I just have fun with it! It is an awesome experience and I learn a lot about myself and each photographer brings out something different in me. I love learning new approaches and creating different images with different styles.
The biggest challenge on set is just learning the photographer’s style and how they operate if you have never shot with them before. You figure each other out really quick and just get into it and have fun.
What essentials are in your model bag?
Make up, hairspray, high heels (several colors) accessories, lotion, snack, robe and cannot forget the dental floss. These are all a must!
List some role models that inspired you growing up and also some who now may help you in the industry?
I have always loved Heidi Klum. She is gorgeous and has an awesome fun personality. Kate Moss was another model I was a fan of while growing up and Adriana Lima is a stunner. Ana Braga is an up and coming model that motivates and inspires me. She is gorgeous and down to earth. Thanks for all your support Ana!!
What is something unique/interesting that most people wouldn’t know about you as an individual?
I am an adrenaline junkie…I love skydiving and scuba diving with sharks, but I am scared of snakes and haunted houses. Eyeballs gross me out too.
Have you ever had a time of adversity or uncertainty in life or with your endeavors that you had to overcome, if so, how did you overcome the situation(s) and conquer the odds?
My mom raised 4 kids as a single parent. She got divorced and had to go back to school to get her education to support her family. I watched her struggles and vowed to get my education and work hard to be independent and take care of myself. I have learned to focus on the positive in every situation no matter how negative it may be. Overcoming our struggles and fears it what makes us stronger and creates who we are.
Are you working on anything new for the future? What should your following keep an eye out for?
I have some things in the works and hope to continue to get more exposure. 2012 was a great start to my fitness and modeling lifestyle and I cannot wait to see what 2013 will have in store for me. Follow me on my journey and find out xo
Tell us about your work ethic and how you accomplish small/large goals?
I always give my 100% to my goals and dreams. It is never easy, but it is worth it! You can have anything you want in life as long as you are willing to do the work. I am ambitious, sociable, punctual, and like to have fun. Life is short and precious and it is important to live, love and laugh.
I always have set goals. I have short term and long-term goals to stay focused and hold myself accountable. Achieving your goals/dreams is such a feeling of accomplishment. I encourage others to set goals and dream BIG. The sky is the limit and anyone can do it! I cannot say this enough…surround yourself with positive and supportive people. It is a must to be successful. Don’t get down on yourself if you have a bad day, we are all human and have our good days and bad days. Always remember, tomorrow is a new day to start fresh. Keep life fun and interesting and challenge yourself. You will grow mentally and physically.
What motivates you to wake up and do what you do everyday?
I love challenging myself and everyday is a new adventure and full of new opportunities. I want to be a positive role model and have positive effects on the lives of others.
